    Event Description:
    "Let your inner photographer snap!" Join us for the annual Texas Photo Festival in Smithville Texas. We'll be hosting models, sets, classes and photography contests in a gorgeous historic setting as well as the Smithville Music Festival! Expect still life, moving sets, sound sets, interactive sets, models of all ages, costumes, lighting displays and lots of surprises.

    The charge for photographer's admission is $15 for a wristband for the event and limited seating classes, first come first served. If you're carrying a camera, you're a photographer. Models and volunteers are admitted free.

    PLAYHOUSE SMITHVILLE:
    10am-11:45am: Kevin Hutchison -
    Quick and Easy Speedlight Portraits: From boudoir to formal and informal portraits Kevin will show you proven techniques, using only speedlights, to create professional quality images quickly. Working with live models and varied sets Kevin will show you lighting set-ups that can be adapted to your shooting conditions and style. Come join the class and learn how to get the most out of your speedlights.
    12pm-12:45pm: Victor Watson - Lenses & Filters: If you’ve just got your first DSLR and are wondering about what lens or filters to get next, then this is the class for you! Join us as we devote an entire class to helping you understand everything you need to know about lenses for your DSLR. Whether you plan to shoot portraits, weddings, sports, or just head out into the world with your camera at the ready, this class will help you choose the right lens for the task at hand.
    1:30pm-3:00pmNicole Curry: "TRANSformation: A Glimpse into the Lives of the LGBTQ+ Community" (NOTE: a presentation of photographs and a 40 minute video with discussion)


    OLDE WORLD BAKERY:
    10am-10:45am: Ashleigh Amoroso - Food Photography:
    Join Ashleigh Amoroso for a hands on food photography demonstration on Saturday, October 8th at Olde World Bakery from 10am - 10:45am. During the demonstration Ashleigh will walk you through a shoot from styling, prop selection, lighting, composition, and more. Bring your camera and all of your food photography questions!

    202 GALLERY:
    11am-11:45am: David Johndrow - A Presentation of His Work
    12pm-12:45am: Lori Gola Paw-Traits - Photographing Pets: Watch Lori Gola photograph some furry models Saturday, October 8th inside the 202 Gallery on Main St. at 12 noon. She'll do a live shoot to demonstrate her animal photography techniques and will go over some tips & tricks to get great shots as well answer any questions you may have. Feel free to bring your camera and grab a few shots yourself.
    1pm-1:45pm: Bristol Wilhelm- Instagram: A social network and a business tool. Instagram is an app with unlimited potential. Whether that be keeping up with your friend's baby pictures or driving more customers to your small or even large business. We will go over how to build an audience and how to use Instagram in ways you may not have thought of.  WEBSITE and INSTAGRAM

    DART FROG CONSTRUCTION:

    Marlene Lebel, CPP, All About You Portraits: Topic: Photography 101 is intended for people with cameras who want to learn what the different camera settings do and want to take better photos. We’ll talk about the ‘exposure triangle’: shutter speed, aperture and ISO. We’ll talk about focus, depth of field and sharpness, as well as how lenses work, what focal lengths mean and how they put light on the sensor. We’ll also look at the camera itself, how it works, what all the options mean and how they will affect your photos.
    12pm-12:45pm: Karol Rice Field & Focus in Depth: The Importance of the F Stop


    SMITHVILLE MUSIC FESTIVAL SCHEDULE
    10:00am       Abbey Duncan
    A talented vocalist, Abbey will perform a mix of covers and originals, all with a sweet country flavor.  Abbey is currently Smithville’s Jamboree Queen and is a frequent performer at the local community theater.
     
    11:00am       Elvis (Not that Elvis) Hernandez   
    The E brings his immense talent and his looper to Smithville.  His looper allows him to be the 21st Century One Man Band.  His mastery of this technology and ability to pull strings and express vocally is a real pleasure to witness.
