Here’s one great fund-raiser for two great service organizations. With the Smithville “pill bottle” tradition on the first Saturday in February, it’s all about the winning ticket. Folks gather at the Smithville Recreation Center to socialize and eat a fine meal cooked by the Smithville Volunteer Fire Department, but again, it’s all about the winning ticket. People team up to buy multiple tickets in the hopes of their name being called to sit in one of the last seven chairs up front. Ticket forms must be brought to event for verification of winners.
  The Fish Fry Fundraiser is three-way effort to raise funds for two Smithville organizations: the fire department and the Smithville Noon Lions Club. For tickets, contact any member of either of those organizations.
